MacBookPro retina 15 don't usb-charge ipad air

Hi to everybody! I have a question. I do not speak well English then sorry if someone has already asked the same question... Like title, I asked to me and to you... i'ts normal that a new mbp retina display 2015, purchased on june 2016, can not usb-charge an ipad air first generation? Ipad act as if I were repeatedly plugging it in and unplugging it. This is normal or is my mbp faulty and therefore I have to take care? Please help me! 😟 Thanks to everybody! 🙂

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that your iPad Air is not charging when you plug it into your MacBook Pro. I understand your concern. It is suggested that your iPad Air should be charged with the Lightning to USB Cable and the USB Power Adapter that comes with the iPad Air. Because iPads use so much power it is difficult to draw the power they need from your Mac.
